Below is a link to a CBS mock draft for 2024 ... done by 2 draftniks & Rick Spielman. They had Vikings picking #4 overall (based on team record before Bears game). Vikes miss out on Caleb, Marvin Harrison Jr, and Drake Maye. Would anyone like to guess who Slick Rick thought we should take #4 overall??? Drumroll please ..... Naturally it's another first round CB! Nice to know after picking studs like Jeff Gladney, Mike Hughes, Trae Waynes, and Mackensie Alexander (2nd rounder), Rick would go back to that well again. To be fair Rick said he'd try whatever he could to move up to get a QB since in their opinion it's a large drop in QB after Maye and Kirk is a free agent. IMO, if Rick was still here, he'd have already extended Kirk and we'd be riding the Kirk train to nowhereville until he's 40 at for $40M+ /year. The new management may fail spectacularly drafting (or signing) their next QB but they made the right choice IMO of moving on from Captain Kirk. www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2024-nfl-mock-draft-ex-gm-gives-wr-to-cowboys-qbs-to-broncos-bears-in-with-the-first-pick-joint-edition/

They have not moved on yet. I wouldnโt hold my breath. This is true and a last minute Kirk extension is my worst nightmare. But Kwesi was the first GM to not give Kirk's agents everything they wanted. So I do believe this is the Vikings saying 'yeah, we'd like you back but not for $40M+/yr'. I'm praying this means the front office is finally going to move on.
