I'd treat 14/3 as a fractional win total. 14 divided by 3 is 4.66. Round it up, 5-12 season. Feels about right.

1-3 would be a good start. In no way is 1-3 a good start.
Assuming a win tomorrow against the Panthers, which is far from being a certainty given how the Vikes have started this season with turnovers and other mistakes, they should be 3-1. I didn't think before the season began when looking at our schedule nor now that they would beat the Chiefs nor the '9ers. So even if we win and beat da Bears in between those 2 juggernauts, the Vikes are likely to be 2-5.
The Vikes' s then have a run of games which are winnable before the final 4 game stretch at the end of the season against the Bengals, Packers and Lions (twice) which they're going to have to win at least 2 of out of 4 to make the playoffs.
Not impossible but improbable given the many and varied ways the Vikes have self destructed thus far.
