Surprised it’s Nwangwu as RB2. Jack Podlesny is not listed as K2.

I was hoping Muse would take the big step this year, doesn't look like it.
Look at that list of DTs behind Phillips...ouch!

Surprised it’s Nwangwu as RB2. Jack Podlesny is not listed as K2. Appears to be in error. Kicker Starter: Greg Joseph Backup: Jack Podlesny Punter/holder Starter: Ryan Wright

This chart is a complete mess. How so? Not only did they publish seemingly random ranking of the players, they also got some players in the wrong slots. Brandel is not a guard, he's a tackle. If they only have him competing at guard, you can cut him right now.

First depth chart means guy with more years get deference . True, but the point about Brandel is a good one. Has he really been taking reps at LG? If so, he could be a credible competitor to push Cleveland.

If so, he could be a credible competitor to push Cleveland. I checked the archives and see zero notes about Brandel. I did see this blurb on the Strib : "Head coach Kevin O'Connell was asked his thoughts on the line during Risner's visit on Tuesday. Behind Cleveland and Ingram, the second-team guards have been Blake Brandel — last year's swing tackle — and Austin Schlottmann. Veteran guard/center Chris Reed remains on the physically-unable-to-perform list with an injury suffered training last month"

These guys are pretty good source for the charts. Ourlads Minnesota Vikings Depth ChartEven there it has Brandel now as RG bu, no longer at the over abundance Tackle position. This is good news for that interior!

This is good news for that interior! Good catch. Yesterday, the Ourlads site didn't match the released depth chart. I wonder what, if anything, we can take from this early chart. - Does having Lowe with the #2s at LT mean that he has beaten Brendel for the backup spot, or does it mean that they want to see whether Brendel can compete or be a competent backup at G? - Similar question: since Udoh is clearly the backup RT, and Brendel and Udoh have both filled in pretty well for Darrisaw at times, does this mean that Lowe is borderline to get a roster spot, or might Brendel be odd man out, if he can't play IOL? IOW, who do you think will make the 53, given what we know so far? At this moment, to me it appears that the OL would include: Darrisaw, Cleveland, Bradbury, Ingram, O'Neill Udoh, Schlottman, Brandel, Lowe, IF Brendel can play IOL, but they might choose between Lowe and Brendel and keep Reed if Brendel can only play T. Or, they could keep 10 OL, but that makes it harder to keep 3 QBs, if they don't think that Hall is ready to be backup. Your thoughts?

My thoughts are “it’s first depth chart following week 1 of camp”. This chart means NOTHING! Even KOC said not to read too much into the first release.
Only thing I’m taking away from this depth chart is that whether people are listed as starter, 2nd or 3rd… the interior of both lines is complete shit and is going to remain complete shit.
