KOC did use the word “competition” to describe what they are trying to create on the offensive line. Said they’re trying to make a good group even better. Added they still expect Chris Reed back during camp. O’Connell did not speculate on what Risner’s role would be should he sign with the #Vikings, but said they’ve talked with him about how comfortable he’d be playing either guard spot, given his LG history with Denver. “Competition tends to make everybody better,” O’Connell said. Brian O’Neill has upped his Achilles rehab to the point where he is wearing shoulder pads as he ramps up. rookie DT Jaquelin Roy just blew by Austin Schlottmann with a quick rip move Harrison Smith just ended the starting offense’s situational drive with consecutive sacks as a blitzer. He’s all over the place in this Flores defense. Kene Nwangwu didn’t practice, Alexander Mattison appeared to get a little banged up, Andrew Booth Jr. left with a trainer, and Trishton Jackson was carted off with a serious-looking knee injury. Marcus Davenport hasn’t taken part in team drills. WR Blake Proehl is making plays today. He just connected on back to back plays with rookie QB Jaren Hall during 11 on 11's. Mekhi Blackmon getting uptick in first-team reps. Played outside in nickel (replacing Joejuan Williams), slot in dime today. -Ample work for Mekhi Blackmon with the first team. -The second team defensive line was a total mixed bag. Seems like those depth spots are really up for grabs. -UDFA Ivan Pace Jr. continues to be very prominent

Minnesota Vikings cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. left Tuesday's training camp practice early with the assistance of a trainer and minutes later wide receiver Trishton Jackson appeared to suffer a serious injury, according to Purple Insider's Matthew Coller.
ESPN's Kevin Seifert noted that a Vikings team doctor followed Booth and the trainer inside the building at TCO Performance Center. It continues a rough trend for Booth, whose rookie season was cut short by a knee injury that eventually required season-ending surgery.
The 2022 second-round pick only played six games through the first 10 weeks before the surgery.
Jackson, who has received high praise in the first full week of camp, appeared to seriously injury his right knee, with Coller noting that a cart was brought onto the field and Jackson was ushered away with teammates huddling around and offering words of support.
Jackson was on the Vikings practice squad last season, having signed with Minnesota after spending the previous season with the Rams under Kevin O'Connell, who was the offensive coordinator in L.A. at the time.

I hate spending #1 and #2 picks on high risk picks.

It was the first draft for the new regime and non of what has transpired with these 3 guys is a surprise.

Thinking about Harrison's use in Zim's defense in his early days, I'm a little surprise none of us really pegged him in this role. We had a thread that dialed in on Flores' defense - lots of guys up on the line and confusing the offense - it feels like we missed a "duh." I read this and immediately imagined Harrison plugged into that Dolphins' tape floated here... up on the line and situationally causing chaos.
I'm also really pulling for Cine to be a player; I kind of think Kyle Hamilton would have had a huge role in this system with his range.
