The Vikings missed out on getting even more and possibly the best value in the draft with Beebe. Had the Vikings been able to move up and get him, IMO, it may have proven to be their best draft in a very long time, providing JJM and Turner pan out. IMO, Beebe would have been locked in at LG for the next 10-15 years, however long his body held up. Heβs a road grader with a nasty mentality that would have provided an incredible pairing next to Darisaw. I canβt stand that the Cowboys got him, and IMO, itβs even more evident that he will excel as the Cowboys oline scouts have proven successful over many decades. This one hurts as it was a dire positional need and one of the best LGs fell to the third round. www.bloggingtheboys.com/2024/5/5/24149090/dallas-cowboys-news-3rd-round-pick-cooper-beebe-draft-class-tight-ends-will-mcclay-tyler-guyton

What do you think we couldβve traded to move up? All we had left was a 4th or next yearβs 1st round

All we had left was a 4th or next yearβs 1st round Iβm not a draft trade specialist, not my thing, but I would have done all I could to move up and get Beebe. I would have tried to package a player and a late round pick as necessary. Heβs the player I would have pounded my fist on the table for.

I liked Beebe as a prospect. Tremendous strength. I don't think he would be a great fit for a zone blocking scheme and his short arms might limit him some in the NFL.
Would have loved to see the Vikings end up with him but you can't get everyone.

The Vikings only had seven picks and none on day 2 of the Draft, so they had to prioritize their selections. Kwesi had to make choices, and I believe he did well in the Draft.
Beebe seems like he can be a very solid C/OG in the NFL.

IMO, if you can find that value in the third round, you do whatβs necessary to make it happen. I am so sick and tired of this carousel of interior lineman that we need higher scouts who can figure this out and start pushing leadership to listen.

Have you submitted a request to Canton for them to begin work on the Cooper Beebe bust for his induction ceremony?
Note: The Cowboys Pass Block and Run Block Win rates were not great last year. Beebe was a solid pick for them.
Also Carousel??? Ingram has started 32 of 34 games, Bradbury has started 26 of 34 games. The other guard has been Cleveland and Risner. They haven't been plugging new guys in weekly. Just a little bit for Bradbury injuries. That is why I had C on my wish list but again we can't get everyone.

I think his point is not how many games they have started, but the fact we are constantly looking for a replacement because we don't have any interior OL that is better than average at best.

Have you just started watching the Vikings? Yes, "carousel" on the offensive line. It's been all over the place for years. I'm just tired of missing out on top oline talent. I don't mind our T pick, but you want versatility, Beebe has that. Even though Beebe played some T, he's best suited on the interior.

Yes, and I believe we were just truly a LG away from having a really good offensive line and Beebe was the perfect fit. I don't care about the zone blocking schemes, etc. This kid is a smart, hard nose player who will do what's necessary. For a big body, he's quite athletic and can move as needed.

I loved Risner and wish he was kept, but now that he's most likely not coming back, we put a bandaid in with Brandel and could have shored up the line for years with Beebe. That's the point.

Our OL did better in pass pro, but couldnβt open a hole against a good DL to save their life. Bottom line our oL leaves a lot to be desired. Darrisaw I thought had an off year but is still far and away the only elite Ol we have. ONeil canβt run block at all and is a liability against speed rushers. Bradbury is fine as a RB in zone situations but is still a liability in RB and PB against large NT. Ingram improved in pass blocking but was awful in Run Blocking. Same for Risner.
It should be an eye opener that we ran the ball more effectively and more often when Our subs were in on the Rt side.
Bottom line.. our interior got better at pass blocking but they are soft and canβt win in the trenches when needed.
