I think Turner damn near killed Jayden Daniels on this one.

Clean or dirty hit? Turner was immediately looking around for the flag, I think he knew...

Clean or dirty hit? Turner was immediately looking around for the flag, I think he knew... Is it even possible to land a hard hit on a QB these days and not get penalized? Hit him too low, hit him too high, land with your body weight on the QB, touch his helmet at all? Turner's helmet/facemask initially hit Daniels in the chest. He had his head up and didn't spear Daniels with the top of his helmet. But he drove through Daniels and because Daniels basically crumbled, Turner slide farther up do to the force of the hit and contacted his chin/neck area and landed on top of him. They called him for roughing (which was probably fair) but not for targeting (which was also probably fair).

Clean or dirty hit? Turner was immediately looking around for the flag, I think he knew... I was wondering if he was looking for the flag or the ball or both. I agree with Marshall that this was probably a good penalty, but definitely not targeting. He for sure wrapped Daniels up strong and fell on him like a rag doll and his helmet was in his upper chest and moved up to the helmet as Daniels was falling. On the verge of a no call, but they want to protect QBs, so it warrants the flag. I don't like it, but it's the right call.

Yeah, I love this video for many reasons, but mainly because they both are now on the Vikings. Not too many QBs can make this play that McCarthy makes. Turner is a bad mamojamma and is quickly closing on JJM pulling in a one-handed catch over his head, having to spin and throw. Maybe that video of JJM messing around with a 360 pass isn't a bad thing after all. lol What I love about JJM is his willingness to improvize, but to try new things. In most sports, especially in hockey, I know we would develop new skills just by goofing around and it eventually leads to something crazy cool. Same goes for Mahomes in that he just creates and does crazy things because you know he's tried that in practice or growing up creating. JJM will do the same thing, whether it's going to payoff as much or not, we will see.

He's probably happy to be teammates, even if they will face each other in practice and scrimmages.

I wasn't too worried if it was a penalty.
Turner may have to be a little more careful than on the Danies hit but I want my Defensive players to play super aggressive and put some hesitation in the offensive players. A little bit of the Joey Browner/Keith Millard attitude is a GOOD thing IMO.
He looked around but if you notice he wasn't looking around to see if Daniels was ok. Physical Football, a little bit on the edge. Gotta LOVE that.

I prefer using multiple sources to make a point as much as possible, but this has to be a drop the mic moment for anyone questioning his athleticism and can't make plays.
