Look there are reasons for people to be up or down on him, but searching through self-made wannabe YT scouts breakdowns might not be the best route especially when you can find good and bad reviews of him from legit sources. Funny I think he actually picked 2 plays to criticize that Chase Daniels used as examples of good plays. Sort of strange. The con guy should use the pro guys video and the pro guy the con guys video and redo the voice overs and they will make more sense. Might just be me and I sometimes pre draft watch some of the self styled scouting sites stuff just to get a feel for peoples takes. I mostly watch breakdowns by guys like Daniels, Orlovsky, or Simms. Seems like the guy has a pretty good handle on some basics and then is trying to inject his interpretation (which is what all of us arm chair guys do). He thought Herbert was a bust and Juedy was going to be Deebo II. Pro guy is kind of a fan boy that seems to split time between reviewing movies and trying to be a YT scout.
Look I do not like Bo Nix much, but I also recognize he is going to the right place for his game with Denver. If he establishes himself he will not ever have to worry again about fit or system because if he moves on or gets new coaches his system will stay with him. He will always have a portion of the Sean Peyton system in him for the rest of his career and that will travel with him unless he runs into an intractable HC/OC. Once a QB gets established he has input on the offense and the plays. His chances of succeeding have went up by being with a HC/OC that can work with a guy like him. I guess it generates more clicks taking a high/low approach on guys.
Most of the ex QB's take a more measured approach (except Simms LOL) and tend to discuss what they like and do not like about guys. Warner was kind of meh I think on JJM he did not think he was a top 5 pick QB, but he generally liked him as a prospect. Simms whipping boy was Maye. One of them I can't remember thought Daniels would struggle. Warner's breakdown of McCarthy (2 parts) is actually pretty good and even handed I think. think Kurt Warner's take that all the QB's have to get better to play at the next level is the most realistic take. I think Orlovsky has the best track record with the new ex-NFL QB prospect reviewing thing. I almost worry if Simms likes the guy I like too much.

I got the same take and read on the videos as Roo did. I disagreed with several takes and thought the exact opposite on several highlighted as well. IMO, McCarthy is the version of Kirk Cousins many in here wanted. While I don't know many who are as accurate of a passer as Cousins, JJM is pretty darn accurate. Like Cousins, JJM sits in the pocket and fires throws knowing he will be lit up and he's tough doing so (that's his hockey background, IMO) and he is a smart QB who can diagnose the defense and find holes. Where JJM differs to the positive that many fans in here wanted in their QB is that he's far more athletic and can scramble as needed that also opens up the throwing lanes/windows and creates plays downfield as a result. He is an emotional leader and he's a winner...something Kirk has eventually proven he can be, but has consistently fallen short of the ultimate Superbowl. Lastly, he has a better sense of the pressure than Kirk, IMO. IMO, Hockenson will be the biggest beneficiary of JJM's arrival and it'll be a terrific paring, providing Hock doesn't fall into the dropsies again. Aaron Jones is another asset that will benefit JJM's progression, as Jones is a visionary on the screen game and runs crisp routes when called on. To piggyback off of Roo's comments about Orlovsky's assessment, Dan actually is on record as saying he things JJM will be the offensive rookie of the year...even though he catches himself on video remembering that Caleb Williams has a pretty good shot at it too...lol www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/40049742 |

Ditka was at it again Monday, a week before the Bears head to the noisy Metrodome for the final game of the regular season.
'The only I thing I think is maybe they could convert it into a national armory, and that way they could get more use for it,' Ditka said at his weekly news conference. 'If they could grow grass, then I know they could use it for livestock.'
Ditka said his team would practice Wednesday through Sunday in preparation for the Monday night game, but would not hold any kind of workout the day of the game in Minneapolis.
'We won't practice on Monday in the dome,' said Ditka. 'I don't want to be in that place any more than I have to.'Ditka may have hated the media but he sure loved to stir things up through it. As I said McMahon simply kept pace with the coaches and rest of that team. Because he really did not do it on the field with wild stats. He never threw for over 2500 yard in a year, his career TD to Int was 100 to 90. He simply won and he did it by putting his body on the line and yes being flamboyant and leading the team. Sadly it has taken it toll as the guy now has CTE, Alzheimer's, seizures and vertigo. Again I do not see that in Williams at all. And by the end of his career his brashness turned to class. McMahon was certainly good for Brett Favre over those βcoming-of-ageβ seasons for the legendary quarterback. When Favre led the Packers to victory in Super Bowl XXXI 35-21 over the New England Patriots β almost eleven years to the day, in the same stadium, the Louisiana Superdome that McMahon had led the Bears over the Patriots β head coach, Mike Holmgren offered McMahon the chance to take some snaps at the end of the contest to run the clock out. He politely declined, showing for all his brashness that he was a classy guy. This was βBrettβs time.βThe defense as a whole were by far the stars and Ryan lead the defense. Not one player really stepped out as bold and brash because they all came to work. McMichael, Dent, Perry, Singletary (those eyes simply put fear into the opposing offense), Wilson, Hampton, Fenick Marshal, Duerson, Richardson and Frazier. I was surprised how small he was. |

Friend, I was 21 years old in 85 and I remember the team well. Best defense in history other than the 2000 Ravens imo. But saying McMahon wasn't flamboyant and a bit arrogant simply isn't true. He was the man around town and was a party boy as well. He was even on the cover of Rolling Stone and did a piece for them. I think your argument that he wasnt as I described in my OP is off base. |

I said he wasn't the most opinionated or flamboyant person on that team. At best he was 3rd behind the 2 coaches. Arrogant is only arrogant if you can't back it up and for the most part he did. |
