Vikings barely beat a depleted Saints team. Go cry somewhere else. We are the 3-1 and Iβm pumped! SKOL! Just can't take the stress anymore. We might be 3-1, but we got alot of shit to work on. We should have won by 14 or more. I have a short leash / low tolerance now with Vikes because of the past.

The D cord needs to go after the year β¦ we need a young aggressive d cord that believes in bringing pressure all the time I don't know much about him but I'm not sure we have the players to bring pressure all the time.Β Β Our secondary isn't the type to stay connected long enough to make that viable it seems.Β Β I'm not sure we can judge any first year coordinator with our current defensive line.... especially the interior line.Β Β Exactly my point our dbβs canβt cover for long periods of time so why sit back in a shell coverage bring the heat and attack lessen the time the db has to cover β¦ are there gonna be some big plays given up β¦duh but Iβll take that instead of this slow methodical death by giving up 6..7..8 yards a play β¦ fuck it blitz all the time and force the qb to make a quick decision

Wouldn't help much vs the run, but makes one wonder why they cut their best interior pass rusher to save 1 mil and bring in a draft bust in trade to take his place?

π― I canβt just blame the o line for all the blitz pressures but my God, they need to give Kirk a chance. Routes need to be quicker They got beat mostly by 4 man rush not blitzes. Besides the one sack up the gut on blitz the RB's actually picked up the blitzes for the most part. Cam Jordan was a beast all game long. Disappointed in O'Neil as well as either the Kirk or the coaches not making an adjustment bringing over a TE to help to at least chip block Jordan.

Vikings barely beat a depleted Saints team. Yeah but considering how piss poor our defense is and how awful the o line was today at times, getting this win over the MFin Saints still feels pretty good Beating the Saints is always good. Even if it was a lucky bounce off the goalpost.π

Where is the pass rush on this team? The two celebrated DEnds are nowhere to be found.

Other teams are just doubling or chipping Hunter every play and expecting everyone else to win their blocks right now. Kind of like they are doubling JJ and trying to force the team to beat them another way.

Cleveland seemed to tighten it up vs Davenport in 2nd half so there is that.

Buried in a crypt or in every other teams' defensive playbook but ours.

oddly enough, I think the injury clock stoppage at the end probably worked out for us.
Instead of them running back up to the line and trying a quick hitter to the outside, while out defense was on its heels, we got to reset. It actually put all the pressure on them: a yard outside their kickers range, no timeouts, likely unable to get a spike off. Seemed like they were ok with trying the 61 yarder with the low risk plays at the end to drain the remaining time away.
writing that, i wonder if Dalton would have just snapped it looking for something quick towards the sidelines while our defense was in it's heels... or if he would have delayed the snap and spiked it with just enough time for his kicker.

The Vikings may luck their way into wins against mediocre, or sub .500 teams, however, they will get slaughtered against the better teams, unless they can step up on defense. In a big way.

I know a win is a win, but we needed all of the following to beat a seriously injury depleted team:
Hit 5 FGs on 5 attempts. recover 2 opponent fumbles to none lost. Outsack them 3-2. Pull off a Fake punt for a 1st down near midfield. Own time of possession by 5 minutes Be underpenalized by 105-32
all of that had to happen and then still be saved by a double doinker missed FG to avoid OT. (which quite honestly, neither of those contacts with the uprights looked even possible that they ball would have gone the direction it did after contacts....it blows my mind. )
It is really hard to explain why we weren't up by 14 at end. I assure you though that we would have lost this game last year. 3-1 and still finding ourselves...very fortunate and bodes well for potential playoff berth. Lot of season left though.

"Ed Donatell is an American football coach who is the defensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League. Donatell has 42 years of coaching experience, including 31 seasons in the NFL."
