As it relates to beginning a rebuilding process, this draft class appears to be one of the weakest in recent memory, at least since 2013 (the class where EJ Manuel was first QB @ #16 and Fischer/Joekel were top 2).
All of last yearโs top 10 would project as top overall pick. About 20 first rounders last year would be in consideration for top 2-3 picks this year. Finally, there are concerns about depth of the class as well.
On the flip side, maybe it makes teams more likely to give up picks?

Have maybe 5 edge that are top 10 or borderline top 10. Doesn't have the WR's and QB's of last year, Pickett and Corral are 1st round talents every year pretty much. Deeper LB'er class also I think. Its a defensive draft. RB class is pretty good. 2 QB class at the top and the top WR's are injured, but otherwise this draft has top 15 talent at a lot of positions that lacked it last year.

Weak draft / strong draft really shouldn't matter. Each class is it's own. As soon as you put a weak class/strong class bias in your evaluations you're screwed.
Just pick the right guys.

Like I said though it is how you look at it this might be the best defensive draft in a handful of years. 5 DE/edge, 2 LB (4-3 OLB/3-4 ILB), 3 CB, 1 DT who all are top 10 or borderline top 10 picks, They all will not be picked in the top 10. This is a great year to have a top 15 pick and need defense. Edge is the 2nd most important position in football and this is the best class of edge pass rushers in a long time.

If it's a good DE/CB class then that works for us. As I mentioned in another post, this a two off season rebuild. If the QB class is weak then get an edge rusher and a couple of CBs. If we move KC then we have cap space to get a center and LB help. If we hit on defensive draft picks this year and fill some holes in FA then you're a position to push all your chips to the center of the table in 2023 to get a QB. Assuming that Mond turns out to be a flop.

Assuming that Mond turns out to be a flop. Trade Kirk vet replacement at QB with cap savings and fill other holes on O primarily through FA. If we trade all 3 of the D vets with value (which is unlikely, but 2 of 3 likely) you get some draft comp back and build the D back young. Big thing is if they want to nab a QB early changes things. A team could get themselves in trouble over drafting Willis or Strong due to scarcity at QB. Blows my mind on Willis as people talk trash about Mond and talk up Willis and they are very comparable as prospects.

Aren't we into draft season now? I think most folks kept it on the down low until we were eliminated?
