Wow Purple FTW!

I have often said I watch sometimes because he does a lot of research on numbers and such, but he is way over reliant on niche mock draft sites with player ratings set so people can draft multiple first and early 2nd rounders in first 4 rounds. Wants to sign everyone. About once a week has an interesting take.  Then 2 or 3 times a week will say something mind numbing.

Here is a good example.

Well on the bright side his stream of consciousness ranting about Kirk and ARod is more interesting than his Kyle Sloter conspiracy takes.    But I think he overlooks the reality that damn near every NFL g.m. if given a choice in 2021 of Aaron or Kirk would not be choosing Kirk.   I'm guessing he thinks the Vikings are loaded with talent equal to or surpassing that of Green Bay yet would not be able to explain why the Pack are 10-1 to win the next SB and the Vikings odds are 5x longer than that with their now allegedly better qb.  Money talks bullshit walks.  He should get acquainted with the concept of lies, damned lies and statistics.

I used to watch Andy's channel pretty regularly, but to my mind his assertions became increasingly ridiculous.  You can take a generally positive outlook regarding the team and still not come off as a "fanboy". Unfortunately, too often I think Andy crosses that line. He seems like a genuinely nice guy who loves the Vikings and puts out an enormous amount of vids, but when I can't take you seriously anymore.....I stop watching.

One thing I give Purple Daily over him is they separate by calling speculation what it is, making legit predictions they score amongst themselves, and they talk to some legit folks now and then. FTW dude I have always said I give him props for researching stats like a madman. Everyone has a go to source and he seems to trust Draft Network the most. I like Walter Football for getting a grasp on guys status before their final year (they always have links to previous year, update current year now and then, and have next year). I like NFL.com rankings for current most because they access the same scouting teams get. I also like seeing how PFF, CBS, and some others go. CBS usually has a really good top 100 ranking. I usually watch a few games of likely 1st round targets. I respect what he is trying to do, but he ignores composite rankings totally. Some folks do not like Paye, some Vera-Tucker, Darrisaw, or Slater when you look at it they are pretty solidly ranked together and are likely to get picked in a fairly small area of the draft. Just because 1 or 2 services rank a guy with an outlier grade it is what it is. Problem with relying on sites for your base rankings that use fan mock drafts as their money maker is they intentionally move some guys up and push some guys down so users can get favorable results from their paid for mocks.

Phil Mackey on Skor North is the most logical of anyone on YouTube covering the Vikes. Mackey and Judd are a must listen.
