All we can do is hope we hit the jack pot with whoever we pick.
bears are looking at williams number 1. Didnβt they just trade a top qb drafted a couple years ago.
how many QBs were drafted before purdy of S.F.
easy to find all these great first round busts at qb.
some being many go to bad teams, Bryce young last year with Carolina.
who had a better year RG3 or Cousins l
where was Kurt Warner drafted. How did he do in the NFL. He wasnβt drafted. Bagging groceries.
this year there 6-7 good QBs 3-4 top 5 picks. You can bet out of the top four iota Five QBs drafted β¦..2-3 will be mediocre at best ln
just hope we find one of the 2 or 3 that amount to anything.
i canβt remember all the top 5 QBs drafted the past z25 years that busted.
Hope Vikings are the lucky ones in 2024

Watch kurt Warners tape on Nix and see if you think that "fine with Nix" source is full of crap. Nix is Case Keenum. BTW, I'm not saying you want him. Just pointing out why the source is a load of crap He'll go fairly early. He's more athletic than Keenum I predict the if Denver does not take him, he doesn't go in the first Round.

Here is the deal. Theyβve now said they are fine with each of the top 6 QBβs I believe. That 1 deflects or tries to hide where they are really focused. 2 it allows them to say whoever they get all along was their plan. I wouldnβt expect anything else! I would love to see the Vikings on the board with both Maye and JJM available just to see which one they would pick. Then I would believe that they got the QB that they were really targeting. I understand your point but their evaluations are not mutually exclusive. It is possible that they see them as a coin flip...and maybe Penix is up there as well with them. Who knows.

With regard to Penix, if he's their target I assumed that pick would come after DM and JJM were off the board. Then we'll never know who they were really hoping for or if they just decided that the other 2 were too expensive.

βWe had him ranked number 2 on our board and we couldnβt believe he was still there at number 11.β

He was our guy all along... Well considering the dynamic of the draft and the fact there are 31 other teams that will influence who is available at your pick means you have to have several "our guys" on tap. Selling the farm is never a good move. We got JJ and moved up to block Denver to get him (who subsequently then picked Nix). The wild card in the entire deal is why did Atlanta take Pennix after a big contract for Cousins?

The wild card in the entire deal is why did Atlanta take Pennix after a big contract for Cousins? Because passing on a young QB you believe can be a franchise guy is stupid when you have an older vet QB - even when that veteran QB is playing at a high level. I donβt care much for Penix, but I understand the move.

I understand the move to get a QB, not with the 8th pick, especially when they have other needs, but an insurance on a guy who could supplant the current vet. Even further, I don't know why they select a kid who is already 24 with the 8th pick in their situation tied to $100M guaranteed money in a vet. Mind boggling to me.

Kirk wonβt be there more than 2 years. He might be gone after 1, even though that would mean a 40mil cap hit. Iβm not a big fan of the QB they picked, but applaud the Falcons for thinking ahead for the most important position in the NFL.

The Falcons are coming across as bipolar IMO. If an organization is going to sign a very expensive, older veteran QB, there is a window in which the team should be maximizing their potential to win now, not planning for a couple of years down the line. There were stellar, instant difference makers available on that pick and they draft an already older rookie to sit for a couple of years. Cousins must be the most expensive bridge QB in history. It may work out for them a few years down the line, but I don't see how anyone can say that they didn't degrade their own investment in Cousins in the process by not maximizing their return over the next 2 years.

Itβs the path I was wanting to seeβ¦solid starter on the roster and a potential future QB. If KC proves he can stay healthy for 1-2 years you trade him or the QB you drafted for high picks or players. If KC is reinjured, you got a legit starter on the bench and maybe takes the controls while you deal KC somewhere else (I donβt remember if there is no trade clause)
