Wonder how many of those guys will have come through the over-hyped, over-analyzed, over-televised roulette wheel called the NFL draft? A majority of players are drafted so Iβm guessing a majority of those cut will have been drafted. If you donβt like the draft, just ignore it. thanks for the advice, however, i do like the draft, i just think it is the most over-rated event in all of sport as evidenced by every single NFL teams roster.

You're really good at hammering at people, but you ignore actual data. You said I could pick "any" roster, so I picked Buffalo, first, because I don't know a lot about their roster, and second, because they've been in the playoffs the past few years. Buffalo offense: 7 of 11 starters were drafted by Buffalo. In addition, Diggs was drafted here, then traded when he became a total diva. Mitch Morse was drafted by KC, but Buffalo made him the highest paid FA C in 2019. Connor McGovern was drafted by Dallas, but he's now with Buffalo. So 9 of 11 offensive starters were drafted players. Buffalo defense: 6 of 11 starters were drafted by Buffalo Daquan Jones was drafted by Tennessee Von Miller was drafted by Denver Micah Hyde was drafted by GB Jordan Loyer was drafted by the Eagles That makes 10 of 11 drafted players. Yes, there are a lot of undrafted players in the league, but they are mostly back fill. Guys like Thielen, Warren Moon and Kurt Warner are the exceptions, not the rule.

There were reasons besides talent Warren Moon had to start out in the CFL. He would have been a top 10 pick in todays world.

In a sane world that post by 2012mom would be game, set, match. But it's hoades so he'll just conveniently ignore it and continue tilting at windmills...

I wish the NFL would get rid of Thursday games. Or teams that have a Thursday night game have their bye week the Sunday before.

IIRC that's the same thing they did last year. On second thought they released a few guys (5? 10?), then released the rest of the herd a couple of days later. Yeah, last year I think they were able to keep 80 until final cutdowns so the first cuts were vets they wanted to give a chance to or borderline roster players. Gives them a longer look at guys and means even less starters playing in final preseason game. Only guys this hurts are fringe vets who used to get cut early to give them a chance to catch on elsewhere before the season. Be a real crazy couple of days now when cuts are made and final 53 is set. Yeah, you're right. Thanks for the reminder. I remembered the early 10 or so, but forgot those were vets. I dont like releasing everyone on one day because no GMs are going to have the ability to sort through almost 1200 players for people they could use. That's going to end the career of more than one very good player simply because he got lost in the flood of bodies..

Also more likely to sneak a cut player through waivers to get them on the PS.

I agree the draft is over-hyped, but no more so than free agency. One is about new blood and potential, the other is about new blood and significant overpays.
