27 players times 32 teams equals 864 guys having to fall back on their college educations.

More teams are holding out key players, so they need more bodies for these Mickey Mouse exhibitions.

A majority of players are drafted so Iβm guessing a majority of those cut will have been drafted. If you donβt like the draft, just ignore it.

Wonder how many of those guys will have come through the over-hyped, over-analyzed, over-televised roulette wheel called the NFL draft? 259 players will be drafted, venture to say about only 60 of those won't make the team they're drafted by and 90% of those will have been 6th and 7th round picks. Draft picks from rounds 1 through 5 are seldom cut. It does happen but not often.

I canβt believe that I did incorrect math! Youβre right, itβs 37 players times 32 teams. The total is actually 1,184 players getting cut. Thanks for catching my error.

Is this applicable for the current β23 season? I hope so, the other cuts are like the rest of preseason, fan boredom and player irrelevant.

I wish the NFL would get rid of Thursday games.

Roger Goodell on players' negative feedback about Thursday night games: 'I don't think we are putting Amazon over our players' interests. We've always looked at the data about injuries. We have data pretty clear doesn't show higher injury rate.'.

Rule change : teams will make one roster cutdown in preseason from 90 players to 53-man roster limit IIRC that's the same thing they did last year. On second thought they released a few guys (5? 10?), then released the rest of the herd a couple of days later.

Yeah, last year I think they were able to keep 80 until final cutdowns so the first cuts were vets they wanted to give a chance to or borderline roster players. Gives them a longer look at guys and means even less starters playing in final preseason game. Only guys this hurts are fringe vets who used to get cut early to give them a chance to catch on elsewhere before the season. Be a real crazy couple of days now when cuts are made and final 53 is set.
