Dead on IMO. It should be obvious to anyone that KAM and KOC are working towards 2024, not 2023. They refused Cousins' "discount" offer, they refused any June 1st cuts, they cut or reduced all the older players' salaries, and they signed a bunch of 2nd or 3rd tier players on "placeholder" contracts (and a couple good players for the future as well.) They've decided to take the dead money cap hits for Spielman's grandiose long term extensions to aging players in 2023, thereby cleaning the cap for massive 2024 moves. 2023 is going to suck as a result, and many of, shall we say, the less "patient" members of Viking fanhood, are going to have a litter of kittens over it. That won't affect their plans any, but it will frequently nuke Armageddon. My POV for this is simple. The Vikings have become the case in point that created the cogent and classical "Definition of insanity" for the last 50 years. I for one am perfectly willing to see if this management team can finally break that half century of unblemished futility. It may take a year or two to return to dominant football, but I don't think I'm being particularly prophetic saying they wouldn't be dominant the next 2 years if the didn't make these moves, so what do we, as fans, have to lose? Two more years of that good ol' unblemished futility or two years of vigorously building to the future? I'll take the latter, thank you.

It just sucks to have to wait a few years to see if the new quarterback is a true franchise player when there are old, longtime fans who would like to experience one Super Bowl win before they die.
