I don't think so, He has a higher ceiling than Ponder and honestly I think he has a higher floor. Hooker is a mucj better passer and reads defenses whicj Christian never was really able to do. I wouldn't be shocked if they took him since they are not extending Kirk. I don't think I could take him at #23. Hooker is NOT the answer

Hooker is deficit in several areas as are the top 4 QBs rated in this draft. None are worthy to change the team's trajectory post KC without high coaching capital spent and luck factors (injury-free).
I hope the pick in round 1 is not a QB.

He will be 26 after sitting a year behind Cousins and recovering from a torn ACL. QB's can play into their late 30's so age isn't what would scare me. The torn ACL scares me. His current development at the age of 26 scares me... does he have much more room to grow?

Here's Kurt Warner's Take on Hooker (2nd installment).
If you want to watch the 1st segment for what he does does well (which Warner qualifies), go to YouTube and type in Hendon Hooker and Kurt Warner.
Despite his gaudy stats (TD's/INT ratio), most of the passing yardage is YAC by the WR's. Given his age, ACL injury, running a very simplistic offense, I wouldn't touch him until the 5th-6th round at best.

I wouldn't touch Levis or Richardson until late in the draft either but these guys keep getting over drafted because of the position they play.

Taking QB Hendon Hooker. I would be fine with that even though he is 25. Hooker has proven to have a nice completion percentage and TD to INT ratio as well as good leadership. I think he will prove to be better than Levis and Richardson who I think have bust written all over them. Which round? Oh Round 1.

Don't know, he was under one of those offenses that can make a QB look great, not much decision making post snap. It was all pre snap, half field reads. If the play wasn't there he ran. Have no idea if he can make a jump from that.

If we're serious about extending Jefferson I can't see this. A move like this with the defense the way it is says your rebuilding from the ground up. I'm sure Jefferson is keeping a keen eye on how the team addressed the defense and O-line. I'm not seeing him wanting to deal with a young QB while in his prime.

My issue with Fields a couple years ago was no proven ability to read the field because of his quality receivers and offense and have to say the same for Hooker. Hooker obviously doesn't have the wheels for that upside that Fields had.

KOC at the sweet 16 game where his Aztecs upset βBama in Louisville. He probably was at the Kentucky Pro Day earlier where he would have seen another βnot ready to startβ QB prospect in Will Levis.
Big Arm, many other questions about him as well.
What do we know with the current entrenched starter in Purple being just a past 4th-rounder who did not start right away?
