Between the draft and free agency, the Vikings need a WR and 2 more corners.
At somepoint Cook will be traded, maybe after rehab for surgery.
They are not keeping Hunter and Z, one will be traded.

Sounds about right. I think they have a trade agreed on for Cook pending a physical at a future date. This may be why the league is letting them operate above the cap as a Cook trade saves $7.8mm. I don't think they would have brought Mattison back or that he would have wanted to come back if Cook was staying. I think Dalvin ends up in Jax or Miami for a mid round pick. I think Z is also going to be moved but it will probably depend on getting an extension done with Hunter. They don't want to trade or cut Z and increase Hunter's leverage or risk a hold out. If Hunter can be extended then Z gets moved. If not, they may look to trade Hunter and re work Z's contract. So if they can trade both Cook and Z, that saves about $20mm. I would use that to sign Chark and bring back the Duke of Shelly and then go BPA in the draft.

Many of the agreements that were leaked by agents have yet to become official.

Once that is in, they should be under.

Somewhere along the line we are going to need a full sized LB and NT or every team we face is going to run the ball right down our Throat! You can't stop the run with an undersized NT and a Small LB. Tonga is big, but he isn't a run stuffer.

Tonga is big, but he isn't a run stuffer. What absolutely sucks is the college game has evolved away from the backend part here. Look at this coming draft. The only LB of the top 15 rated above 240lbs is the Iowa kid! I do not like this trend! That's why Vander Esch from Dallas would have been my hope. At NT, there are just a few draft-worthy guys in the in this draft who may fit the "Big Gap" with real stout girth. One only needs to see the NFL has become to turn it back with several teams finally running the ball more than throwing it again and quite a few near a decent 50/50 split. We Vikings have the light Defense setup to combat a pass-heavy team as the KOC offense was in '22 but not even fast enough, overall. If they don't get this side of the ball mixed in better - at least it can't become much worse near the frickin' bottom where it is now.

We need a NT, 2CB, WR and LB. If we pull this off, we will be playoff contenders with the Lions. Skol.

I would add extending Hockenson to this list. This would likely have a favorable cap impact this year but more importantly keep him around for several more years.

But I doubt you are going to make much headway with Hock or JJ in extension talks until the QB situation is resolved. Said this before.....No agent is going to encourage their top echelon receiving clients in their mid 20's to hitch their wagon for the next 3-4 years to an unknown QB. Late 20's....the money and ring come more into play...but mid 20's....it's all about production (and money)...because production sets up even more money!

I think they are going to stay with Tonga, but pick up at least one ILB.
