Kirk wasn’t the problem last season, and have my doubts that overpaying for Lamar Jackson (and losing assets in a trade on top of that) is the answer to anything.

Yeah after the loss to the Giants, all the fans said get Jackson not get a better defense. This guy is an idiot.

Yes let’s keep trotting Kirko out there and expect a different result. I’m sure he can play into his 50’s on 2 year fully guaranteed contracts that gives the team no cap flexibility I’m all for it

I would love to hear your plan for replacing him. 1) Is it trading for Jackson? What are you willing to trade and how much are you willing to pay him? 2) trading up in the first round? How many picks are you willing to trade to move into the top 5 picks of the draft? 3) trade for a young guy like Wilson or Lance who hasn’t lived up to expectations. 4) draft a project guy in rd 3 or 4? 5) sign a cheaper vet like Jimmy G or Carr? 6) other ideas. I’m all ears.

I didn't intend to start a Daunte Debate. Just posting link as this reporter with no real sources somehow is aware of our plans for the next 2 seasons.

I’ll bite this team hasn’t had but maybe 2 franchise QB’s in 50+ years screw the draft picks. We brought KOC to develop his QB. Lamar no younger mobile QB yes this draft we don’t have draft capital have it away for a tight end and a worthless DT. At some point you have to spend those lottery picks on a QB. Take the hit build around a young cheap QB and move on.

You only have to look at his "stellar" playoffs stats to realize... Wtf would you want him?

Most likely a very large uncap friendly contract and bad Playoff stats.

I guess if I understand you correctly, your plan is to let Kirk plan out his contract jn 2023 and in 2024 trade whatever it takes to get in a position to grab a young QB in the draft. I don’t have a problem with that. I don’t know what the QB class looks like next year but I agree that eventually you have to push your chips to the middle of the table and try to land a Qb

The best plan is to have a 3-14 season and get a top five draft pick.

I’m all ears. Trade him to a team of his choice and get whatever you can for him. That would be a the plan. The reason is simple. You are not going to win a SB with him and his contract. Deductive reasoning and departed filly will tell you this. Therefore the bottom line is you have as much chance of chance of winning a SB if you or I started for the Vikings at QB, which is zero. Draft anyone and everyone…every single year to try and find THAT guy. Take the formula from Belichick and Reid. Keep drafting QB’s even if you have a Pro Bowl level guy. You have to try to have a chance of finding that guy. You have zero chance with KC and his contract.
